5 Days – 4 Nights Winter Itinerary

There’s no time like vacation time. Spend it well!

Five Days in Durango. Sounds like a book. Maybe it will be (and be sure to write in our guestroom journal you’ll find in your room. We love your stories, and you might like reading the stories of others too – sometimes people have some good advice and ideas!). Okay…

DAY ONE: Start off with breakfast at The Mahogany Grille and then go for a walk through downtown Durango. Pop into local shops that offer one of a kind items, perfect for unique gifts to bring back home. Enjoy your evening at the Strater. Begin with cocktails and apps in the Office Spiritorium, enjoy hearty entrees from the Mahogany Grille and end the evening with live entertainment in the Diamond Belle Saloon.

DAY TWO: Winter in Durango is beautiful, but the beauty doesn’t stop at the outskirts of Durango. Be sure to head up to Mesa Verde for snowshoeing and breathtaking views. It’s a full day at Mesa Verde, and on your way back you might want to stop in Mancos for a drink and to take in this quaint town.

DAY THREE: All aboard!! It’s your day to take the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train. Grab a fast breakfast at The Mahogany and hop on the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train to and from Durango to amazing Cascade Canyon. You will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of beautiful Colorado covered in a blanket of snow. You’ll be back in the afternoon, in time to unwind in your Strater guestroom. Enjoy live music in our bars.

DAY FOUR: Looking for a true western experience to wrap up the end of your trip? Get in a sleigh and let the horses take the reins. Head up to Rapp Coral and enjoy a relaxing day in a sleigh. Be sure to dress warm!

DAY FIVE: Hot time in the old hot springs on day five. It’s time to chill… well… not really… but you will certainly be relaxed. Go to Durango Hot Springs in Durango or Pagosa Hot Spring just 60 miles east of us. Soak, swim, stay warm and reflect on your fantastic trip to Durango and the mighty southwest. Have fun. Be safe. And we’ll see you at the Strater.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
