SPRING
Every Season Is Fun Season in Durango
Spring Skiing is a thing – a really fun thing. It’s warmer, people hang out on the “beach” at Purgatory Ski Resort and enjoy a beer and some fun talk about great turns and epic falls! Skiing in the spring is one of our local favorite things to do, so book a ski spring break with The Strater and ski Purgatory, Wolf Creek, Kendall Mountain or the extreme Silverton Mountain! When there’s good snow, you’re good to go! Spring is one of those times where you can almost do everything you can do in the other seasons, just in this inbetween winter and summer place. It depends upon the type of snow year we’ve had and how warm it gets, but you can typically ski, mountain bike and play tennis all in one day….or make up your own tri-athalon of sorts. When the snow starts to melt, the early rafting season hits and it hits with some fun waves in the Animas River Whitewater Park. Hiking trails are opened up and ready for your fast moving feet or a walk with the dog. It’s really up to you what Spring has in store. One thing you’ll want to mark your calendar for is the Durango Wine Experience and Taste of Durango during the month of May. This is the way to wine your way around Durango and eat some of the best food you can find west of the Mississippi or blocks from the Animas River 😉 These festivals are just the start of all the fun that summer has to bring with outdoor movies and concerts, crafts shows and Farmers Markets – all which spring to live in this Spring season.
