**Live Music played by the Bluemoon Ramblers at the Diamond Belle Saloon**
The Blue Moon Ramblers are comprised of 5 local musicians, who have been performing professionally for nearly 40 years each in Colorado, primarily in the Four Corners’ region. The band is known for being the Sunday Night House Band of the Diamond Belle Saloon at the Strater Hotel in Durango, CO, and this marks the 26th year of members of the Ramblers performing at that same venue. All the musicians have been friends and have played together in a variety of groups, going back to the 1970’s.
Holding the bottom together is Glenn Keefe on bass, who was one of the founding members of the band Leftover Salmon. Glenn has been with the Ramblers since the mid-2000’s, and is known throughout the Durango area for setting up sound systems and working also as the “sound man.”
Jenny Winegardner has been with the Ramblers for over two decades. Jenny writes and sings original songs, along with singing lead vocals and harmonies on the Ramblers’ cover songs. Jenny plays guitar, and also has a history of being the bass player for the band.
Red “Marlon” Greer has been an integral and founding member of the band since the early 1990’s. Red is well-known to many bands and audiences alike, for his masterful fiddle-playing, and excellent voice. Red earned Colorado High School All-State honors for Orchestra and Choir, back in the 1980’s. Red sings rich lead and harmony vocals.
Donny Johnson is another popular and well-known singer and guitar player from a family of excellent musicians, and has worked with the Ramblers for over ten years steadily. Donny has mastered Willie Nelson’s vocal and guitar phrasings, but also adds his own rich repertoire of singing and playing a wide variety of country and western songs. Donny also sings lead and harmony vocals.
George Usinowicz began performing at the Strater Hotel in 1987 and founded the Blue Moon Ramblers’ band in the early 1990’s to follow the Sunday night Bluegrass and Folk tradition established at the Diamond Belle Saloon. Now that gig has grown to 26 years. George plays 5-string banjo, and sings lead and harmony vocals.
Marion Dobbs on lead guitar and vocals is a frequent performer of the Ramblers, bringing unique guitar-picking styles to the show. Mario, originally from Farmington, NM, fills in his busy professional schedule with several appearances each year with the Ramblers.
