Durango, Colorado. – Durango’s historic Strater Hotel is pleased to announce its 2014 Annual Open House set for Thursday, April 17 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. throughout the hotel. Attendees will enjoy Hotel & History Tours, Light Hors d’oeuvres, and Live Music. General Manager Michelle Thom said everyone at the hotel looks forward to this annual event to show off the hotel to, in particular, locals.

 

“We love to host our local customers,” said Mrs. Thom. “Being able to give back to the very people that have supported us for so many years is very important to us. Plus we are hosting a KSUT Benefit Concert featuring the Colorado singer-songwriter Tyller Gummersall and his band in the Henry Strater Theatre—it will be a fantastic show, and way to support an extremely important local organization.”

Bayfield, Colorado Singer-Songwriter Tyller Gummersall and his band will be performing to benefit our local National Public Radio Station, KSUT. Tyller is a Nashville recording artists and recently completed his third album. Donations suggested.

 

2014 New Room Dedications

Rod Barker, owner of the Strater Hotel, is proud to announce six additional room dedications for the Hotel’s Special Room Dedication Project – sevens rooms were dedicated in 2012 and another eleven in 2013.Eventually each of the hotel’s 93 rooms is being named after individuals, families, and institutions that have been important to the founding and development of Durango and its surrounding areas.
